Today at chow, a soldier on my team overheard a conversation between an officer and a slovokian soldier(probrably another officer).
Turns out the information I put on here the other day was partially incorrect but here's what happened...
3 Chinese manufactured RPGs were fired upon this base. 1 landed on base, however it appears it's nothing of great or immediate concern as it no doubt did not hit anything critical and no lives were lost or injured. Another round was shot short. The last one was a pop but no kick... a dud. It didn't fire, it didn't go anywhere besides stay in the tube in which it was originally in. I'm not sure but i believe the insurgents or people who really hate us being here were captured or severely maimed.
There's more info, but I must hold back as the information could easily be used against this base... but rest assured, the defences of this installation are changing and getting stronger day by day.
The first story I had heard was from a soldier who was on the quick reaction force team, however they were all going off assumptions if I am not mistaken... or he simply wasnt paying attention to specific details on an event as he always seems to do.
As i said before, Chinese manufactured RPGs... i'm sure they were purchased by Iraq or maybe some country in the surrounding area for the military, but the weapons fell into the hands of these insurgents or maybe they were supplied to support some coup of years past.
What makes me really wonder though is... why RPGs?
This is such a crazy place.
